We are in Limerick for the annual CTVR plenary meeting. Just about all of the 100 or so CTVR participants from the photonics, rf, test and reliability, and emerging networks strands are here for a summary of the work this year so far, plans for the future, some cross-strand info sessions, and roundtable talks. Walter Tuttlebee, executive director of Mobile VCE gave a very interesting keynote presentation earlier today with an overview of Mobile VCE and insights from his experiences regarding the links between industry and academic research. The objectives of Mobile VCE, an industry-academic focused research centre based in the UK and in existence since 1996, are somewhat similar to that of CTVR.
